UNISON members vote to accept Surrey County Pay Deal

yestofairpay.jpgUNISON members voted by around 2-1 to accept the 2016-17 Pay and Reward final offer from Surrey County Council.

After months of negotiations and consultations, dozens of meetings, a survey and a UNISON video, our negotiators finally managed to get something that we felt members might vote for. It is not the best deal ever and we are not happy with some of the detrimental changes to current terms and conditions but the final offer looks nothing like what was first presented to staff. The pay team managed to get a lot of the worst elements chucked out and even got some improvements. In the end over 97% of staff will get a pay uplift in July and as long as staff are successful in their appraisals each year they should continue to receive increases.
